Founded in 2006, the Redwood City Girls Softball League is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt corporation whose purpose is to provide recreational and competitive fastpitch softball programs for girls ages 4-14. We serve Redwood City and surrounding communities of Atherton, Menlo Park, Portola Valley and Woodside.

Girls of any ability are welcome, and the main purpose is to teach/learn the great game of softball and have fun.  Divisions are provided for recreational teams, intended for beginner to accomplished players, and also more competitive travel teams, intended for girls with above average ability and experience and/or players interested in taking their game to the next level in a more challenging and competitive environment.

Age Brackets 6U to 14U

Practices: 1-2 per week Starting February 2nd 2026

• Practice days, times and locations will be determined once the team rosters are completed (estimated late Jan/early Feb)
• Schedules are based on coach and field availability.

Games

• 1-2 games on the weekend 
• February 28th through May 2nd

Player Evaluation Day January 10th

• All players in Minors (10U), Majors (12U) and Seniors (14U) are required to attend an evaluation day to determine skill levels. 
• Players in Rookies (6U) and Juniors (8U) requesting to play up in a higher age division are required to attend the appropriate evaluation day as well.
  • Evaluations will be used by coaches to assist with roster formations and help create balanced teams. 
  • All Players are required to attend the MANDATORY evaluation day on Saturday, January 10th.
  • There will be one make-up day.
  • Evaluations may also be used for the formation of our Spring Select Teams. 
  • Most importantly, ball safety is the priority for all divisions.
  • Evaluators will observe batting, base running, and fielding skills.
